Community Housing Innovations, Inc – a dynamic non-profit housing services agency – is seeking a Property Manager to manage a diverse portfolio spread throughout New York. This position is based at CHI’s White Plains headquarters and will also comprise field work in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley.
Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in a Property Management capacity. Ability to manage and oversee maintenance staff. Must have knowledge of residential building codes.
Must have good experience with housing subsidies such as section 8, HOME, DSS or HUD. Experience dealing with/solving building tenant issues, executing leases, and legal proceedings concerning arrears is a must.
Basic knowledge of mechanicals, including plumbing, boilers, HVAC systems, roofing, engaging third party contractors and vendors. Must have a have a good understanding of relative cost of vendor work and materials.
Must be a driven individual, have ability to work independently in a fast paced work environment and prioritize and delegate work effectively.
Must be proficient in Microsoft word and excel; well organized, meticulous. Solid working knowledge of Yardi Voyager is a strong asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive to sites on an as needed basis, valid driver’s license and insurance. Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
